Vestibular Activities

What can I do to help with the development of my child's vestibular system?

There are two activities that are fun to try:

1.     If you have another adult at home, get a quilt and place the child laying on their stomach or back (depending on how they are most comfortable) and have each person grab two corners.  Pick them up off the ground and swing them slowly back and forth.

2.     Place the quilt on the ground and have the child sit with their back facing you on the blanket.  Grab the two corners closest to you and pull the child along the floor (usually will work on a carpeted or hard wood surface.  If you have older children you can let them pull their siblings around the path.
