Vestibular Movement

Your vestibular system is in your inner ear…so think it’s the sensory system that tells you when your head is moving.  Acting like a gyroscope in a plane to tell it how high off the ground it is, what direction it’s moving, etc.  During group this week, we will do activities that put our head into different positions, at different heights.  This system is what forms the foundation for our balance as well as the resting state of our muscles (postural control).  It also is VERY important for our emotional regulation as it is next door neighbors to our emotional system, our limbic system.
